Trapdoor -U.S. Rifle Models 1873 to 1888 Krag U.S. Rifles and Carbines Models 1892 to 1899 M1903 Rifle: Rock Island Arsenal M1903 & M1903A1. It is believed that approximately 40,000 WIN‑13 rifles were produced. In addition, rifles in the 1.6 million serial number range have been observed ranging from number 1,602,XXX through 1,639,XXX. All of this supports the January 1945 date for the serial number range change.
